We offer counselling and befriending assistance for those who experience feelings of anxiety, domestic conflict, terminal illness and adjustment to aging and change
Transport is provided for service users to and from the Centre for daily and weekly shopping trips. Transport service is also provided for those who are in need for health appointments.
Wing Hong provides guidance to bereaved families of members regarding the use of the Chinese Cemetery at Priestfield, Hamilton.
As part of this service, we can issue a Letter of Eligibility confirming that the deceased was a registered Wing Hong member and is eligible for burial in the Chinese Cemetery at Priestfield. This letter is required as part of the burial arrangements.
Please note the following:
- The deceased must have been a registered Wing Hong member prior to their passing.
- The family will be asked to provide the deceased’s membership number so that we can verify our records.
- We are only able to issue a Letter of Eligibility where the membership can be confirmed. Unfortunately, we cannot issue letters for non-members or where we are unable to locate a valid membership record.
- Wing Hong does not arrange funerals. We are only responsible for issuing the Letter of Eligibility.
- Families are responsible for appointing a funeral director, who will make the necessary funeral and burial arrangements on their behalf.
- Once the Letter of Eligibility has been issued, all further arrangements must be made directly between the family (or their appointed funeral director) and South Lanarkshire Council, including cemetery bookings, burial arrangements, and any associated administration.
Our History
In 1994, Wing Hong worked in partnership with South Lanarkshire Council to secure 250 burial plots at the Chinese Cemetery in Priestfield, Hamilton. This was a significant milestone for the Chinese community in Scotland, ensuring that families could continue to observe traditional Chinese burial customs within a dedicated resting place.
